Pause Play, 2020. 暫停,2020
During Melbourne’s intermittent lockdowns from 2020, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has caused unprecedented disruption to our community’s individuals, families, businesses, and communities. I try to keep a record of the “pause state” with my perception. I chose the fragile pastel material to echo the vulnerable and sentimental.
At this strange and challenging time, the isolated figures and emptied streets seem like uncanny snapshots during the COVID-19 lockdown. The prosperity and excitement of the past have become so deserted and lonely. Behind every image, something has disappeared; something has become worse. This work offers viewers new insights into social experiences that can seem overwhelming and paralysing. The staccato fragments as traces of the flow of humanity might appear suspended.
我嘗試用我的感知來記錄“暫停狀態”在疫情大流行期間, 我選擇了敏感的色粉來回應脆弱和感傷。
