PLAY – Abstract Figurative 《PLAY – 抽象的具象》
PLAY - Abstract Figurative oscillates between abstract and figurative, focused on the openness of composition through attitude, pattern and chance. At first glance, the paintings of PLAY appear to be a random assemblage of tape and paper shreds. The perception changes when the pieces of tape and the paper shreds appear to be small trompe l’oeils and have narrative hints. I use the small trompe l’oeils as a pictorial strategy to attend to the spectator through the optical illusion. PLAY becomes self-critical of the aesthetic, abstract and figurative. I like this structural component, which forms evocative pieces comprised of interfaces to analyse the painting as an image and an object. Abstract and figurative are two intense painting languages interlocked tightly, offering an unfolding space. ~~~《 PLAY - 抽象的具象》這個課題搖擺在抽象與具象語言形態之間,在構圖方面更多地觀注佈局、圖像和概念。乍看,《PLAY - 抽象的具象》似乎只是膠帶和碎紙片的隨意粘貼。 當膠帶和碎紙片是有意識的視覺陷阱繪畫技法並帶有敘事暗示時,人們的看法就會隨之改變。《PLAY - 抽象的具象》這個課題是對美學、抽象和具象的自我探討。 我著迷這種有無限可能的結構組合,看似偶然又是深思熟慮,抽象與具象兩種強烈的繪畫語言相互滲透提供給觀者一個開放的空間。
